How It Works

I will spend time with your loved one in a relaxed and familiar environment, learning about their life, history, memories and unique perspective through conversation, photographs and personal stories.

Every interview unfolds differently. Some people speak effortlessly for hours, while others require more time, patience and gentle guidance. I never rush the process.

Whether it takes an afternoon or an entire day, the goal remains the same — preserving the personality, voice and presence of the individual as naturally as possible.

After filming, I carefully sift through the footage to create a refined and thoughtfully edited interview for the Mangan Memories archive.

For families who prefer a more private experience, interviews do not need to be published publicly.

In addition to the curated archive piece, longer-form private films with additional raw footage can also be created — preserving the smaller mannerisms, humour, behaviours and moments that families often treasure most over time.

Each archive entry is accompanied by reflective writing, historical context and a personalised poem inspired by the individual and the world they lived through.

Family members are always welcome to be present throughout the process.

If desired, additional relatives can also be interviewed and thoughtfully woven into the final piece.
